Dynamic Duo

I was scared about the Clarisonic. Mixed reviews online had kept me from getting one. First off, they are expensive. I bought mine in Sephora during a trip to NYC and they do have good bundles with other products which helps take the sting out of it. For us Irish ladies I have seen it for sale in Debenhams and Space NK, both of which offer good beauty reward schemes. Secondly, many talked about the 'breakout' period. Basically your skin goes a little crazy, spots and madness ensue and then it all goes back to normal. If you are like me you never willingly want your skin to breakout.

All this aside, my skin wasn't really looking it's best. I wanted more of a glow so I did get a Clarisonic, the Mia2 to be precise. I like to use it at night during my second cleanse. It has definitely become part of my nighttime ritual. Once you turn it on, gently move it around your face (no harsh scrubbing) with your favourite cleanser. It automatically runs for 1 minute and beeps as a little reminder to move it around your face.

Now, back to the 'breakout' period. It never happened. I believe this is down to the magic that is La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo +. The first time I purchased this, I didn't think much of it, but I was only using it on and off. Now I couldn't be without it, using it day and night. It has a really light gel/cream consistency and I use it like a serum under my moisturiser. In conjunction with the Clarisonic I'm finding my skin looks less congested, fewer spots and more even. Have you tried either product? I'd love to know!
